When Jimmy's mother granted him freedom after he had rushed through his chores and set tasks as record time, he didn't think he'd felt a greater sense of relief of gratitude toward his parent. He had done his work sloppily, yes, and he had promised his mother nearly a week ago that he would take the time to help her replant her flowers, but Judy had let him off the hook, either sensing he desperately needed to be elsewhere or fearing the safety of her agapanthas.
Jimmy didn't stop to question the reasoning, though, simply gave a her a hasty hug and shouted a thanks over his shoulder. He was now sprinting down the street at break-neck speed, hoping he was correct in the assumption Cindy had indeed gone to the Candy Bar.
He came skidding to a halt in front of the double glass doors, sneakers screeching in protest on the concrete. sidewalk. As he slipped through the doors, he spotted Cindy sitting -- seemingly alone -- at a booth, her body facing him but her head turned to look out the window. He didn't notice Sheen until he had glided over and slid in next to her, whispered a small greeting in her ear, and brushed his lips across her cheek.
{o.o.c. Well, here we go with plot twists. What do'ya think? And what song was Cindy mouthing, because I know I've heard something like that before; I can't figure it out and it's driving me CRAZY!}

Cindy had taken to drumming her fingernails dully on the table, gazing blankly out the window. She was in a sort of bored trance, the same question that had since been running through her mind as before as she continued to hum softly. She didn't snap out of said trance until Jimmy came bolting up the street, much to her surprise. It wasn't that he was coming at all more than it was that he was running. Did he know she was here?
She was already beginning to go pink as she heard him come through the door, not bothering to look at him, but instead keeping her eyes glued to the window. This wasn't going to end well. It would either drive Sheen to further madness or it would just be awkward... though Cindy was sure they could make it up to each other later.
She went even further crimson as she heard his pleasantly whispered words and felt his warm lips press up against her cheek. Jerking around to look at him, she gave him a strange look somewhere between confusion, nervousness, and adoration. She was indeed nervous. How would this look? How were they looking to make it appear? Not to say she would mind if everyone and their brother knew that Jimmy Neutron and Cindy Vortex were (finally) together, but she wondered if he did. There was the slight possibility that he hadn't seen Sheen in the first place.
"...Hey." she replied rather shakily, giving him a nervous smile and allowing her eyes to flit suggestively toward Sheen. She inched away from him slightly, a bit shaken by the suddeness of everything, though still, under the table and away from Sheen's wandering eye, she gripped Jimmy's hand in reassurance. "See Sheen? I didn't kill Jimmy." She attempted to drive on the conversation as if nothing had happened, though that lopsidedly uneasy smile still remained.
{ o o c : Hehe! I love that song. It's called "The Book of Love", and it's in the movie "Shall We Dance?" (BRILLIANT and romantic!!) Now... channel your craziness into roleplaying! ^^ }

Jimmy flushed brightly as he gave a stuttering "Hey" back, then turned to stare at Sheen in a sort of horrified trance, wondering what measures he would take to amplify the scene Jimmy had already caused unintentionally.
It wasn't as though he minded it or anything; there was no way he could have hid things forever. He would have simply preferred easing his friends into the idea. But then, as soon as he thought about it, this was probably a more preferable way: Sheen would tell everyone, they could avoid all the direct weird looks, and so much time and effort could be saved on their part and put toward a more enjoyable use. Nevertheless, he was gripping Cindy's hand rather tightly.
What she said to Sheen, though, made him mentally stumble. He turned his head to look at her bewilderedly. "What?"
{o.o.c. Well, there you go. Rip it apart with your need to role play or leave it to Sheen.}

(ooc - hooray for plot twists!)
Sheen had been fading out, as usual. In fact, he and Cindy had both been fading out, each lost in their own worlds, each - although unknown to Sheen - thinking about the person they loved. So it took Sheen a moment to realize his best friend had run past their table, and when he sat next to Cindy and kissed her on the cheek, for a moment he didn't even react because he was positive he was hallucinating.
Cindy, looking very awkward, said something about not killing Jimmy, but Sheen barely heard her. He was rapidly blinking his eyes and trying to wake up. How was this possible? Jimmy had just shown affection towards Cindy. CINDY! Without any hesitation!
He shook his head as he realized what Cindy had said. See, Sheen? I didn't kill Jimmy. But she had obviously done something else.
"No, you didn't." He responded, in a surprisingly calm voice that didn't last a very long time. "But you DID see him! And I know what you guys DID!"
Of course, Sheen was still too oblivious to realize what was really happening. Or maybe he just couldn't accept it. Sheen still wasn't used to change..and this change was just too drastic. It was like a Twilight Zone world.
"You BRAINWASHED him! To fall in love with you and do your evil bidding! ADMIT IT!" He stood up, pointing an accusing finger in their faces. It was either that, he told himself, or Memory Erasers really had entered Retroville and altered their brains.

{ o o c : Excuse this horrid post. It's all I could come up with, seeing as I'm currently buried in an episode of "Dukes of Hazzard". The movie comes out tomorrow! Yes, I am excited about it. Bo Duke is the greatest fictional guy ever... }
Cindy blinked and jumped backward as Sheen commented on "what they did", turning her head slightly and wondering suspiciously if, for once, he knew what he was talking about. It was possible, if unlikely. Had he seen them earlier, by any odd chance. In affection, as well as slight nervousness, she rubbed her thumb along the back of Jimmy's hand, closing her eyes slightly. Of course, Sheen's next comment put any thought in her mind of him seeing them together earlier out. He was still his same psycho self.
"I'll brainwash YOU in a second if you don't CHILL OUT, Sheen!!" Cindy yelled, slapping her palm down on the table, her face twisted into an annoyed snarl. She leaned forward slightly, lifting herself off the booth seat barely before seating herself again. She was honestly not in the mood for Sheen's mindless ramblings about something that was far from the truth.
"I didn't brainwash Jimmy! Have you seen the size of his head? Really, I don't think I'd be possible." She ruffled the hair of the boy next to her playfully with the hand that wasn't currently clutching his. After grinning fondly at him, she turned back toward Sheen, replacing the smile with another look of irritation.
"Besides, if I brainwashed him to fall in love with me, would I do this?"
Turning away from Sheen, she raised an eyebrow nearly sumptuously at Jimmy as she turned his face toward hers with a palm on the cheek. She then boosted herself up with a hand on his shoulder and kissed him roughly, yet delightfully (that was a given). After that odd tingling sensation traveled up and down her spine once, she backed off slowly, smiling gently at her boy genius and softly squeezing his hand as she brushed her lips briefly against his jawbone before sitting back down.
Her eyes flitted from one boy to the other, but found their home upon Jimmy's face nearly involuntarily. She couldn't really help it; Sheen had momentarily evacuated her mind. Then, it was to be expected. "Would I do that..." she murmured again, her lips forming the shadow of a smile.

When Cindy leaned foward and kissed Jimmy, Sheen didn't do anything but sit there and watch the most unlikely couple ever as they engaged in a deep lip-lock with a horrified expression on his face. Once they had pulled away, the gears in his brain began moving slowly, processing it all.
"Okay.." He said slowly, working it out in his mind. "So..you guys are in love? For real? No brain manipulation?" He paused for a second. "Huh. Libby kept telling me this would happen, but I didn't believe her."
His face suddenly lit up. "Hey, this is GREAT! Jimmy, we can go on double dates now! You and Cindy and me and Libby! Wouldn't that be so AWESOME?! And if Carl ever gets a girlfriend we can all TRIPLE date! How cool would that be?!" He said excitedly.

Jimmy couldn't believe he had sustained such a long friendship with Sheen; his ability to think rationally in abnormal situations was so contradicting to Jimmy and his logical way of approaching things. He silently cheered for Cindy when she took matters to set Sheen straight into her own hands -- and rather efficiently even if surprisingly sudden. (One second she had been making small circles on the back of him hands softly, and the next he found himself in a rough kiss... though he didn't disprove of either things.)
"Yeah, Sheen," he said, unable to stop gazing down at Cindy and grinning broadly. "For real, no brainwashing, no manipulation, no anything... and that would be rather cool, wouldn't it?"
{o.o.c. Sooo...is this pretty much done? I'm afraid I'm terrible at telling these sorts of things, or knowing how to wrap them up.}

{ o o c : Yeah, just a few more posts and we'll be done. Though I am hungering for another roleplay, naturally, so if someone would like to make a thread somewhere I would gladly reply (I'm out of ideas for beginnings of threads, seeing as I've started every roleplay thread except one, heh...). }
Cindy gave Sheen a fleeting glance, nodding in full approval - for once - of Jimmy's declaration, but no sooner had her eyes landed on Sheen then they turned back to Jimmy. It nearly made her laugh as she caught the slight shimmer upon his lips and jawbone that had resulted from her femininely lip gloss-induced kiss (even if the way it had been delivered was not so delicately feminine). She nearly brought herself to wipe it away, but "Wicked Cindy's" suggestion won and she didn't even lift a finger to hint its presense.
"Well you two boneheads can let me know when you come up with something vaugely resembling a good date, even if it is completely unmarketable, hmm?" she drawled, half-interested. Releasing her grip on Jimmy's hand, she turned toward him, one hand on the table and one on the back of the booth. She raised an eyebrow hintingly as she spoke again, this time her tone holding even more of its classic sarcasm.
"I'm sure Jimmy would make a far better subject to distribute your absolutely tragic rants about my best friend, Sheen. I, on the other hand, can find much better uses for my time than listening to that." Cindy leaned back a bit, grinning at Jimmy, even though she was stilll speaking to Sheen. There was that familiar drop of the stomach, she thought, though she was altogether ecstatic to be feeling it in this context. "I hope the fact that I am not completely evil - probably - and that I did not murder Neutron can provide a bit of consolation for you.
She paused for a moment before speaking again, but this time to Jimmy. "You, though, may call me if you'd like to do something later, or deliver the message in any other means you'd like." She leaned forward a bit, smiling delightfully. "Bear in mi nd that I'm not making any promises. I may have plans."
She left it at that, though she winked tellingly all the same. Smirking faintly, Cindy continued to grin at the lovely distraction that blocked her exit, easing herself into him as she leaned forward and curled her legs up beside her, her head on his shoulder.
