There was no particular reason Cindy Vortex had decided forthwith to head to the Candy Bar. It had been a rather spontaneous thought she’d had when she’d gotten home after dance practice, so she’d settled to act on it. So now, here she sat, poking thoughtfully at her ice cream, an expression halfway between a smile and a frown upon her face. She hadn’t eaten much out of the dish in front of her, but that could have been expected over all the thinking she was currently engaged in.
Ever since she’d left Miss Martin’s, she’d been humming a tune she couldn’t decipher, but it was a bit odd how similar it was to Sway, yet it wasn’t so odd as it was pleasant. She tended to have this tendancy when she was in a good mood, if only to herself. She continued to hum, blindly taking another slow bite of ice cream, her eyes on the ceiling in thought as she lowered her spoon.
Cindy would have been annoyed by the number things to ponder at the moment, but somehow she wasn’t. She couldn’t have been. The strangest thing was that she was pondering Jimmy Neutron... and she wasn’t in the least bit aggravated about it. There wasn’t much left to ponder anymore, considering, but it was nice to think about the events of the past hour, especially in excruciating detail. Yes, excruciating detail could be very useful at some times. She grinned slightly now, just the corners of her mouth turning upward almost invisibly.
She had almost forgotten the prospect of ballroom classes for a brief moment in her thought, but it suddenly came back to her, heading off to hum another tune (Under the Bridges of Paris, of course). She had a feeling it would be much more bearable now.
Sighing slightly, she took another bite of ice cream. She was definitely not in one of those “leave me alone” moods like she usually was when she was alone in the Candy Bar. This forgotten tendancy did not have any place on her faintly smiling face as she sat alone at the booth. She was, frankly, happy.
{ o o c : This takes place after the dance studio RP. I know it's not done, but I'm bored because my entire house ditched me for the day to go do something fun. Now I'm stuck here to rot until I go to choir camp at one. So I'm bored, yes. Well, someone please reply to this, or else I think I'll die of bordom. Heh. ^.* }

(ooc - I'll reply!! I know Sheen and Cindy don't really go well together, but I am also bored as heck, and I'm going to be home alone soon, too, and at the current moment it looks like we're the only ones on the board. And I did read the dance studio thing so I know what's going on.)
At the current time, Sheen Estevez was strolling merrily down the street on a mission, searching for someone. He had tried phoning her house, but hadn't gotten a reply. So he figured she was out somewhere. His goal: find Libby Folfax and convince her to go to the Back-To-School dance with him.
The Candy Bar was a logical place to look. When they had been kids it had been one of the most popular places to hang out, and now that the majority of Retroville's youth were in their teens, now a lot of teens hung out there. Granted, Sheen didn't go there with Jimmy and Carl as much as he used to, but he still went there sometimes, and saw a lot of people he knew there. He was pretty sure Libby and Cindy went there a lot, so maybe he'd get lucky and catch her there.
He hummed a tuneless song to himself as he approached the front doors and opened them, stepping inside, appreciating the cool air that met him as he did so. The jukebox was playing and a few kids were up and dancing. He scanned the familiar faces, but didn't find who he was looking for. He searched the tables, and his eyes rested upon Cindy Vortex, sitting by herself in a booth.
Huh, strange, she's usually with Libby,he thought, feeling slightly dissapointed she wasn't there. But Cindy would proubably know where she was.
He approached the booth and cut right to the chase by asking, "Hey, Cindy, do you know where Libby is?" He didn't know what reply he would get, but he wouldn't have been surprised if it was something rude. He and Cindy weren't usually on the best of terms. He wasn't even really sure why..she thought he was annoying, he supposed. Well, a lot of people thought that, so it wasn't anything unusual. But he stood there anyway, waiting for a reply.

Cindy jumped abruptly as Sheen spoke and she blinked at him for a moment, her face straight. "I think she's down at the gulf with her parents this weekend." She shrugged and took another bite of ice cream, looking away from him. Normally, yes, she would have snapped at him, but her reply was surprisingly rather amiable. One could not have blamed her, but no one really knew about what had happened, so one could also have been surprised.
She was still humming gently, now having moved onto Santa Maria, cooincidentally the song that had been playing at the end of her rehersal and during her run-in with Neutron today.
"You're just going to have to wait to ask her to the dance." she continued casually, smoothing back a whisp of hair that had come loose from her ponytail and tucking it behind her ear. It wasn't as if it wasn't completely obvious that Sheen's motive was to ask Libby to Homecoming.
Alright, so Cindy's good mood was odd, but there were only two people in the world right now who could have guessed why she was so happy: Jimmy Neutron and her dance teacher. Even through Sheen's presense, she was smiling lightly, eating her ice cream as if he were her good friend instead of an annoying nuisense she had to put up with to hang out with Jimmy.
{ o o c : Yay!! Hurrah for bored people! Well... kind of... I'm just glad that there's someone out there who will engage in roleplaying with me out of sheer boredom. Still two hours until camp. }

(ooc - hurray for boredom! not really..)
For a moment, Sheen stood still, shocked by the calm manner in which she had answered him. Cindy just wasn't a calm person, especially around him. If he had a dollar for every time she had insulted him, yelled at him, told him to get lost, or otherwise inflicted some sort of pain upon him, he'd be the richest man alive. In fact, the fact she hadn't told him to leave her the heck alone almost scared him. Sheen wasn't that used to change. After a slight pause when neither of them said anything, he voiced his concern.
"What?! That's it? No rude comments? No snappy remarks? No insults? What the heck is wrong with you?!" He wondered to himself if her brain had been tampered with by aliens..or if this wasn't actually Cindy but a robot pretending to be her..or if he was dreaming...when he suddenly realized what exactly she had said. "And, who says I was going to ask her to the Dance? I was just wondering, that's all.." he said defensivly, not realizing how painfully obvious he was.

Cindy glanced at him doubtfully, raising an eyebrow. "Right." she replied, her words dripping with sarcasm. After a moment of malicious thought, she continued, "And 'what the heck is wrong with me' is none of your business, is it?" She had been quite tempted to refer to him as Ultra-Freak, or to tell him to go away, but it frankly had slipped out of her mind more quickly than it had come.
She looked back down at her ice cream, which was almost gone by this time. With another couple of bites, she'd polished it off, and she pushed it to the middle of the table to get it out of her way. She picked up her purse, then stopped and nearly slammed it down. "By the way, my 'condition', as you may be thinking of it as has nothing to do with Ultralord in any way, shape, or form." She only mentioned this because she knew he was going to blame her happiness on some sort of odd lifeform from Episode Gazillion or whatever. Now that she wasn't in the mood for any time, any place, or any circumstance.

Sheen stared at her doubtfully for a moment. She seemed to be acting a bit more Cindy-ish, but he still had his doubts. "Are you SURE you didn't get attacked by the Memory Erasers? They - " he paused, and recalled the last time he had tried comparing her to something he had seen on Ultralord. He winced slightly and rubbed the back of his head as he recalled the memory and decided, happy or not, Cindy would proubably still wallop him one if he didn't shut up. "Never mind." He said, although he really wanted to voice his theory about the Memory Erasers.
He looked around the Candy Bar, trying to find someone else to go hang out with so he could leave her alone, as she proubably wanted, but there didn't appear to be that many people around, and the people who were, he didn't know very well. They'd proubably react even more negatively towards him than Cindy would. He got the vibe Cindy really didn't want him around, but his short attention span dismissed the thought quickly. He was too bored to worry about her wrath. He changed subjects.
"So, uh, do you know when Libby will be back?" He asked, and, realizing how obvious he was being, added, "Yeah, I did want to ask her to the Dance...do you think she'd go with me?"

Cindy's eyebrow remained precariously perched as he spoke, but when Sheen finished with compliance to her wishes, she nodded her head and replied, "That's what I thought you said."
She listened a bit less than intensely through his speech, her elbow resting on the table and her cheek cupped in her hand. She still managed to catch the vibe of his sentance, even though her thoughts had managed to remain at the dance studio for the past hour. "She'll be back in a couple of days."
Cindy paused, surveying Sheen up and down, considering whether she should cast him off with an evil response or be truthful. In her current mood, though, contempt wasn't quite her bag. How could it be? She'd just been... she sighed as she thought. "I'm sure she'll go with you, Sheen." she replied.
{ o o c : Sorry, crappy post... }

(ooc - nah, it wasn't crappy, you're really good at being Cindy ^^)
Sheen's heart rate suddenly increased at these words. If Cindy, who he knew didn't like the idea of her best friend dating him, had said she was sure Libby would say yes, it must be true.
"Really?!" Without thinking about it, he sat down in the booth across from her. "Did she say she would? Does she talk about me?!"
His adrenaline was pumping now, as always. It really didn't take much to get it going, especially when Libby was the topic. As soon as Cindy said that, thoughts of Memory Erasers and his confusion at Cindy's calm state vanished, and his mind was filled only with thoughts of Libby, imagining them going to the dance together..imagining how she would react when he asked her..."Of course Sheen! I'd love to go with you! My heart burns with undying passion for you!" the Libby in his mind replied. He laid his chin in his hand and sighed dreamily, similar to the way Cindy was, momentarily forgetting she was even there as he focused on his fantasies.

Cindy shook her head at him, rolling her eyes. He honestly was crazy. Where did he think her loyalties lied? "Woah there, tiger. I said I thought she might go with you to the dance. Don't go overboard." She glanced at her nails, a habit of sorts.
"Besides," she continued blandly, a hint of irritation in her voice. "Even if she did talk about you, why would I spill? If you think I'm that disloyal to my best friend, you've got another thing coming, Estavez." She half-glared at him, though on most days it would have come off as a much more frightening thing.
"I wouldn't want to haul you to the hospital after you had a stroke, either." she muttered, rolling her eyes again, and picking up her purse once more, rumaging through it, another habit of hers when at a loss of what else to do in general.
{ o o c : Aww, thanks! Well you're an awesome Sheen, honestly! You've got him down pat! }

(ooc - thanks! ;D Believe it or not in real life I'm actually a really quiet, calm person..but I have a really crazy streak in me and I think that's where Sheen comes out. lol!)
Sheen snapped out of his fantasies of Libby confessing her undying love, and frowned slightly. The fact that Libby may have talked about him to Cindy, and Cindy wouldn't tell him, made him a little upset. However, he figured she must have said something good if Cindy thought she'd at least go to the dance with him.
"Aw, come on!" He pleaded. He knew, however, there was no point in even trying. He knew Cindy wasn't going to be telling him any time soon. He sighed, knowing it was useless. "Oh, fine." He said.
He wanted to continued fantasizing, but decided it would be too awkward if he just sat there staring off into space with Cindy at the table across from him. He changed the subject again as he looked around the Candy Bar.
"I wonder where Jimmy and Carl are." He thought out loud, more to himself than anything. "I havn't seen them in a while. Have you seen them anywhere?" He was more musing to himself than anything, but he hoped maybe Cindy would know, although he figured she didn't. He expected to get a response about how the heck was SHE supposed to know, she couldn't stand them, and then she'd proubably make him leave. He sighed, wondering where everyone was. He was so bored.

Cindy couldn't help but freeze up at the mention of Jimmy. She couldn't have cared less about Carl, but Jimmy... She stared at Sheen for a moment, rigid and nearly uneasy. I wonder where Jimmy and Carl are...
Cindy'd known where Jimmy was an hour or so ago. Her hands gripped each other under the table. She tended to get nervous in "pressuring situations" involving Jimmy in any way. And then he asked her if she'd seen either of them. Great, just great. It was this kind of on-the-spot thing that caused her to act nervous.
The blood coursed through her veins at a quick speed as she remembered her rendezvous with the boy genius earlier. Has she seen him... she'd more than seen him. "Umm... I... Well, I... No, I haven't." she finished lamely, her shoulders down and her chin leveled rigidly. Don't catch on... don't catch on... don't catch on... she thought desperately, briefly closing her eyes, but opening them quite quickly again.

Even Sheen, who was usually oblivious to everything that didn't involved TV, sugar and Libby, could suddenly feel the tension coming from the girl sitting across from him at the table. He had most certainly not gotten the angry, get-the-heck-out-of-my-face response he had been expecting. On the contrary, she suddenly looked nervous and guilty..like someone with something to hide.
The idea of what Cindy and Jimmy had actually been doing didn't even cross his mind. As the kids grew, even he couldn't ignore the obvious feelings Jimmy and Cindy had, but he never really thought about it. He could sense Jimmy had more than just hatred for the girl, as he sometimes portrayed, but he didn't know much about Cindy's feelings. Instead, his brain jumped to a different conclusion.
"Are you sure? You look like you're hiding something. What are you hiding?" He suddenly gasped. It was so obvious. Cindy had finally done what she had been threatening to do since the day they had all met and beaten them both to a bloody pulp. "You killed them, didn't you?! You DID! And you dumped their bodies in the RIVER to wash away the evidence! I knew you were evil! I bet you're not even Cindy Vortex! I bet that's just a fake name to cover up your real identity, isn't it?!" Sheen practically yelled, getting way too carried away in his own twisted fantasies, intertwining them with reality, as he always did. He thumped his head on the table. "Oh, why?! Jimmy and Carl, my best friends! The only ones who could tolerate me!" He moaned, his face stuck to the table.

"SHEEN! CALM DOWN UNLESS YOU WANT ME TO DO SOMETHING TO MAKE YOU!" Cindy yelled, standing up opposite him and brandishing a fist. Her teeth were gritted in a dangerous glare that portrayed that classic Cindy Vortex "don't mess with me" attitude. Many people had fell silent and looked over at the pair of them, though the Candy Bar still and all buzzed with activity.
Sitting back down, she narrowed her eyes at Sheen, folding her hands neatly on the table. "I didn't kill Jimmy and Carl, you dweeb." She rolled her eyes and waved a hand dismissively. "And I'm not hiding anything!" she added. "I'm sure their both alive and well, considering Neutron didn't blow them up with one of his experiments."
Slowly, she began to ease into her facade. She certainly did not want to be the one to tell Sheen of her and Jimmy's newfound... well, something. What if Jimmy didn't want anyone to know yet? She wasn't even sure who she wanted to tell yet, or whether she wanted to tell anyone until she sorted some things out in her head. Staring pointedly at Sheen, she waited for him to calm himself.

Sheen looked up and felt relief wash over him, both at the fact his best friends were still alive, and the fact that Cindy seemed to have returned to her normal, somewhat scary self, proof that Retroville hadn't been invaded by Memory Erasers after all.
"Really? Oh, that's good news. If they were dead I'd have nobody to listen to me talk about Ultralord. Or anything else, for that matter." He added. It was true - nobody else could keep up with Sheen's crazy ways.
He sat up straighter, acting as if the whole incident hadn't happened, and not noticing that many people were staring at them now. "So..anyway..." He suddenly felt rather awkward. The only time he was really around Cindy was when he was with Carl and Jimmy and she was with Libby. He had never been alone with her before and it was suddenly scaring him pretty badly because there was no one around to stop her if she decided to attack him.
"So...how about the weather, huh? Lovely day, isn't it?" He asked, lamely trying to strike up a conversation.
(ooc - sorry if this post is bad..I'm not really sure where this is gonna go...)

"No, there wouldn't." Cindy agreed bluntly, pursing her lips rather dully as she chewed the inside of her cheek and looking out the window. She couldn't help but wonder herself where Jimmy was right now. Again, on a normal day she wouldn't have cared, but today was much different. Half of her wanted to run back to their neighborhood and check his lab, but she wasn't sure whether he was there or not. So she'd just sit here and restrain herself.
At Sheen's comment about the weather, she turned back to him, giving him a questioning look. Glancing back out at the overcast skies, she snorted. "Right." she said sarcastically, still attempting to pull herself out of the state of mind of "Where is Neutron?". She couldn't get over how weird it was that she was even thinking it, but it was strange. She'd kissed him though, for god sakes. And between her and Neutron, that was a miracle.
She was once again staring out the window, humming to herself and occasionally mouthing the words. "And I... I love it when you sing to me." Her voice couldn't have been any larger than a whisper, so it was barely audible, but one couldn't blame her; she had so much to think on.
